Ø 19799月—19836月,武汉地质学院矿产地质系学习,获学士学位。

Ø 19839月—19866月,武汉地质学院矿产地质系学习,获硕士学位。

Ø 19889月—19926月,中国地质大学矿产地质系学习,获博士学位。

Ø 19868月—至今,中国地质大学(武汉)资源学院任教,1988年晋升讲师,1993年晋升副教授,1996年被原地质矿产部破格晋升教授,1998年晋升为博士生导师。

Ø 19959月—199610月,美国加州大学伯克利分校地质及地球物理系进行合作研究;20003月—200010月,在美国伊利诺斯大学香滨-厄本分校地质系做高级访问学者;20013月—20035月,在这三年间曾三次赴香港大学地球科学系进行合作研究;20043月—200410月,在澳大利亚悉尼大学地球科学学院做高级访问学者。
